STITCHES Doll Project

This project was designed in July of 1999 for women living with HIV infection. For several years the founders wanted to create a project that combined art and life, as an interactive way to educate the community at large. These two women wanted to find a way to preserve the stories of HIV positive women everywhere. So, the dolls in the STITCHES project are created by HIV positive women all over the country.

    Hello Everyone!

    Our website is expanding! We have new dolls made by women at a homeless shelter in Ontario, Canada. Our STITCHES STORE has new handmade clocks along with our lapel pins. Please consider these items if you need a gift for a special occasion.

    The next thing that will be up soon is a webpage dedicated to high school students. These will showcase projects created in response to our STITCHES doll presentations at local Macomb County Schools in Michigan. There are brochures, children's books, dolls, T-shirts, poems, essays, and more. Look for these in the next 30 days and let us know what you think.

    Our bottle and can drive is also something that you can join in on. No matter where you live, if you have returnable cans/bottles you can collect them for STITCHES. Once you turn in the slips, just send the money to us at:
