STITCHES Doll Project

This project was designed in July of 1999 for women living with HIV infection. For several years the founders wanted to create a project that combined art and life, as an interactive way to educate the community at large. These two women wanted to find a way to preserve the stories of HIV positive women everywhere. So, the dolls in the STITCHES project are created by HIV positive women all over the country.

New Info on the STITCHES Website

This blogging stuff is new to me but I want to give it a try. I am hoping that this will be a great way to connect with other websurfers and bloggers.
First of all I invite everyone to go and check out all the new items on the STITCHES website. Let me suggest a few places to start:

1) There are some new international dolls from Canada. They have their own website because they were created by women who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. You can get there from the main webpage. It's called My Sister's Space.

2) We now have lots of new items for the STITCHES STORE. Please consider purchasing some of our one-of-a-kind clocks when you need a gift for a special occasion. Pass this info on to others who might help out.

3) Read about our bottle and can fundraiser! The link is on the main webpage. Please try to pitch in and collect some returnable items.

4) There are lots of new ClotNot Club dolls made by women and girls with bleeding disorders. If you haven't checked that out yet, please do.

5) The newest webpage is coming soon. It will be showcasing art projects created by local high school students. These projects were made in response to our STITCHES doll presentations this past spring. We have so many wonderful from 5 different schools but we can't put them all on the website. Please check back soon to treat yourself to these interesting and informational creative projects.

Thanks for reading my first post. I will continue to blog as things are updated!!
